CASV

The Coalition Against Sexual Violence (CASV) is an initiative that strives to combat sexual assault and gender-based misconduct within our Columbia community and beyond. We aim to create positive peer-driven services tailored to the needs of survivors and their support communities.

CASV is currently accepting applications for Programming and Communications Fellows! If you want to develop programming and projects that serve survivors of sexual violence and their support systems, or initiate campus-wide change on issues related to social violence, CASV is the organization for you. Apply here by January 29 at 11:59 pm EST!

Position Descriptions

Programming Fellow: Programming fellows will be tasked with assisting the current President in driving forward sexual violence initiatives. Potential tasks may include, developing a more detailed proposal of initiatives, conducting research on effective sexual violence interventions, exploring potential programming collaborations, and aiding in the implementation of the initiatives.

Communications Fellow: Communications fellows will handle all tasks related to social media, print media, and general inquiries, ensuring that CASV begins to develop a strong following and a positive reputation. Potential tasks may include, developing and implementing an effective social media strategy, designing visually compelling social media posts, pitching and writing Op-Eds in university publications, crafting messaging for university administrative bodies or offices, and responding to email messages and direct messages, and developing petitions and advocacy documents.

What's Great About a CASV Fellowship:

CASV Fellows are distinct from our General Body as they are passionate about addressing sexual violence at Columbia and beyond and are willing to commit between 5-10 hours per week to further develop our organization. As we grow as a club, fellows will benefit from one-on-one mentorship from the CASV team and will have the opportunity to significantly contribute their ideas to the development of our club.
